The Shadowfell

After much discussion and against better judgment, Bastille persuades the party to pass through the broken barrier and descend the staircase into a shadowy cave system below, Cole attuned to the alternate planes of existence realises that the party has entered the Plane of Shadow, also known as the Shadowfell.  While exploring, the party comes across shades and zombies wandering toward judgement, which lies across strange bridge that twists and turns its way through the shadows. 

It is here that Bastille is reunited with the ghost of his former captain who places a powerful GEAS on him.  Bastille compelled by powerful magic must return her logbook to her employer the rum baron Dexter and her personal effects to her family on Double Cross.

In the meantime, Cole and Garrick discover a shadow portal to the Under-mountain, the legendary dungeon of the mad mage beneath Waterdeep.

A brief scrap with Shadows weakens Artemis, the party leaves the Shadowfell via the medusae dressing room. Bastille recovers the captain's effects from the wreckage of the Lugger.  Upon returning to the Unsinkable II, the party are pleasantly surprised to find Susquehanna, Mara, Roger, Lars, and Ulrich, have made repairs to the mainmast using salvage from the Lugger. The repairs are quickly finished, and the Unsinkable II puts to sea. Navigating the Blight is made easy using Captain Q's map, and the Neopoli compass, the Unsinkable II makes good time returning to Double Cross in a few days.



Double Cross
Bastille returns the Luggers Logbook and the salvaged rum to Dexter, who impressed asks the crew to retrieve another item for him from one of his ships, The Emperor o the Waves that has until recently been missing. 
Artemis smuggles their loot ashore, avoiding customs using the Apparatus.  Aias gives the Miggins boys a massive bonus in addition to their share of the loot, then reports to the Mayor. Mayor Savage offers the crew more work, guarding a large gold caravan down from the mountains and then taking it to bribe the Goblins of the Sina Warrens and then in the spring joining the attack on Black Sand Island and its troublesome inhabitants.
Bastille returns captain Q's personal effects on her widow, and children.  But then, in a dark turn, Bastille attacks Mr. Q encouraging Cole to do the same.  Cole hacks the head off one child then burns the rest of the children alive in the family bed with a burning hands enchantment.  The GEAS is lifted from Bastille, who subsequently disguises himself at Mr. Q and withdraws the now-deceased family's savings from the Fortress.  

Aias returns Geradil and Courana to South Farm.  Everyone goes shopping, in the same shops, separately.  The party now swaggers around town in distinctive black dragon armour.

Crossbones Graveyard


A halfling and a necromancer walk into a Graveyard. 
"Edwin, is this the right place?" Said the necromancer Gruel.
The halfling, eyes glowing unnaturally red glared up at Gruel and pointed a withered hand toward to the placard over the crypt door, it read "Quimm Family Mausoleum."
"Excellent!" said the necromancer. Then laughed a well-practiced deep, dramatic, and diabolical laugh.
"Mwhhahahaha"
Edwin sighed and said over his shoulder as he stalked into the tomb. "Come on, Steve, we don't have all night."
